The previous posts are quite accurate however I'd like to add this park is completely open to anyone who might venture in off the road. There was no visible security observed. If you possess a Concealed Carry permit, have passed the requirements including a FBI background, fingerprint check and strict weapons training you might want to look at another park in the area as you will not be welcome here. No, I was not challenged by management nor did I make any issues of their policy. I am just reporting what other reviewers have overlooked.

Now folks we have to remember this is downtown Las Vegas not a wooded site in the National Forest. The downtown transportation station is 1 block away, Fremont Street Experience is 2 blocks away and most people stay here for the great food and casino odds, not the ambiance. This is a full hookup park with adequate site space and 24-hour armed security patrol. We have visited this operation many times over the years and have never had or seen a problem.

We were a little hesitant to stay based on previous reviews but were glad we did. This a fabulous RV park of the high side of gently sloping hill with fantastic views in all directions. The sites are gravel, well maintained and clean. The park is undergoing some significant upgrades but not in the camping area. Now the hosts. This is a park in a major tourist area and the staff is very busy. We had no problems, in fact they were more than courteous, BUT if you are the problem...You will have a problem. The park's owner saved us more than one night's camping charges with discounts and directions to off the path area attractions that most others miss. We will highly recommend this park to others.

Rather than repeat all the accurate information reported by others, I'd like to add that this is a good place to board the La Veta tourist train that definitely is a 10 in our book. If you're looking for a neat, clean RV park with long, green grass (no weeds) to run around in your bare feet, this is it. We will return again next year for the train.

A large open gravel parking lot with back in RV sites. The hosts were polite but that's about it. Most area information came from Police or Tour Operators. The WiFi is present but only strong enough in the South 1/3 of the park. The water pressure is estimated to be over 100 psi so a regulator between the faucet and the hose is a necessity! Beautiful river trail to the Town and Spa just outside the park over a log fence. The site we were assigned had about 3 packs of cigarette butts so it appears there is no site inspection. This is not a bad park but next time we'll try another.

The only way to describe this campground: "If this isn't paradise it close enough for me." Large, private spaces so far from your neighbor that you think the place is yours alone. This is indeed the "Crown Jewel" of the Colorado State Park system. If you don't reserve a very long way ahead you will only get a night or two before you must move. A Colorado State Park permit is required so factor that in your budget. We will return here again..and again..and again.

I'm not going to rehash the park particulars as these have been stated. We found this to be a delightful, quiet park. The management was not burnt out and I found this interesting, then I found out why. The Campers were friendly. Most all folks here talk to each other and are more than helpful and not complaining and the park employees attitude shows it. Receiving a satellite signal is difficult due to the heavy pine tree cover, so the park has installed Direct TV to every site. If you have the box forget the dish. Saturday night there was free entertainment and peach cobbler with ice cream. What more can you ask for? Next year we'll return for a longer stay.

If you're looking for all the frills this is not the place, but if you're looking for good folks, trees, shade and grass it is. This is a mobile home park in transit to an RV park. The place is clean and neat as a pin, the roads are adequate and the site size will fit most any rig. The other guests will assist you in backing in and setting up if the hosts are busy. The express bus stop [$.35 for Seniors] to downtown and Old Town is 1/2 block away. Many restaurants and small shops are within walking distance. We highly recommend this operation as the people are great and more importantly the hosts actually enjoy their job. We will return frequently.

We stayed here close to home [5 miles away] to check out our new travel trailer. We had driven past this park may times and it looked good. After one night we can confirm this is a 10 operation. An older group in a quiet park with ample shade. The hot tub was fabulous. If you're looking for peace and quiet with no unruly kids or beer parties you will be happy here.
